PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Unrestricted parking is available on Church Street and there are Pay & Display car parks a short distance away. 2-7 day parking permits are available from the Tourist Information Centre. The property is a 5-10 minute walk from the bus and train station where a taxi rank is also located.

Whitby is linked by mainland train north to Middlesbrough and by a steam rail service to Pickering (limited service in Winter). There are also regular bus links to Scarborough, Middlesbrough, York and Leeds, towns also served by mainland train services.

EATING AND DRINKING
There are many great restaurants, cafes, pubs, bars, bakeries and delicatessens in Whitby to cater for all tastes. The main supermarkets are the Cooperative, opposite the Tourist Information Centre on Langbourne Road, and Somerfields on Flowergate.

OUT AND ABOUT
Whitby has it all and is the perfect tourist destination. A wonderful holiday beckons whatever your age, tastes or pastimes. Here are just a few ideas of things to do from the wealth of attractions not only in Whitby but the surrounding moors and coast around:
• Visit the historic Abbey, unique St Mary's Church and climb the 199 Steps for stunning views over the town
• Take a steam train ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway through fabulous scenery and visit the moorland villages on route to Pickering including Goathland the location of Heartbeat!
• Learn more about Captain Cook’s time in Whitby and his epic voyages at the Memorial Museum
• Explore the scenic delights of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park by foot, bike, bus or car
• Visit the nearby picturesque fishing villages of Robin Hoods Bay and Sleights
• Take a boat trip on the vessel of your choice for half an hour or try your hand at fishing for the whole day
• Visit Bram Stoker’s Dracula Experience or take a nightly ghost walk if you love the gothic.
